Why work with “How’s It Working?”
Starting a human-centric journey is a new mindset for most companies and executives. Putting your people and bottom-line results on equal footing creates challenges to the way many organizations have operated since they were opened. However, research shows that human-centric solutions are critical to any organization’s success.
There is no magic bullet when dealing with people challenges - every engagement is as unique as your organization’s challenges. However, we will always start with clarifying your desired results and outcomes, identifying the path to achieve those outcomes and results, and setting metrics to measure progress.
In my practice, I focus on coaching new and new-to-role leaders to maximize their impact, I partner with organizations to design and implement custom leadership development journeys that align with and support your strategic plan, and I will help you evolve your culture to truly reflect your Mission, Vision, and Values by focusing on your leaders. Our work together will maximize ROI, employee commitment and bottom-line growth, while using a human-centric lens. Finally, I will partner with you to strategically manage the changes your organization is undergoing, whether those changes are driven by internal or external forces.
Working with me is a partnership. Together, we can achieve more than we can separately because we each bring unique capabilities, skills, talents, and experiences that add up to more than the sum of their parts. We will create more than a canned model can achieve - we’ll create a solution with actionable steps that enhances efficiency, drives value, and gets the results your organization needs.
Who I am
I’m an experienced people professional, with more than 20 years of applied experience and a vast network of partners. I received my MA in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and am a NeuroLeadership Institute certified coach. I’ve worked in many industries, including oil & gas, manufacturing, finance, utilities, transportation, not-for-profit and local government. I have worked as both an internal employee and as a consultant, so I understand what it takes to make a great plan a reality.
I live and play in Denver with my husband Walter, our dog Zia, and our two cats, Pi and Magic. I love cooking, baking, and puttering around my yard in the summer. We also enjoy riding our bicycles and traveling to new and familiar places.
What I believe is important
As your partner, I believe that it’s crucial to listen first, challenge respectfully, and care deeply about you, your employees, and your organization. I take working with you and your organization very seriously and believe that we can have fun along the way.
Partnership: Doing work with you, not to you or around you
Listening: Focusing deeply and to understand, not to respond
Curiosity: Asking questions, probing answers, learning more
Transparency: Being open, honest, and kind
Fun: Taking my work seriously, but not myself
Delivery: Focusing on action-oriented solutions that achieve results
